Hurricane Irma: A Floridian Perspective

Leave a comment Standard

As you may or may not know, I am a Floridian. More specifically, I live in South Florida. Though I’m not as low as Miami, I’m still South enough to be worried. We’re expecting Category 4 winds and rain on my side.

This isn’t my first hurricane, but with reports of it being “the strongest hurricane ever formed in the Atlantic,” my family and I aren’t taking any chances. My motto is to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Hurricane Irma has already ravaged through islands in the Caribbean, destroying most of the structures on the island of Barbuda. Thankfully, most of the people had already evacuated before then.

My thoughts and prayers are going up for the people who have already been affected by Hurricane Irma and those of us in its path.
