the sun and her flowers (Book Review)

Comment 1 Standard

the sun and her flowers is one woman’s exploration of heartbreak and healing. Throughout the book we see the progression from brokenness, to understanding, to a focus on self-love. The reader may not be able to relate to every single poem, but they will be able to understand the pieces and the emotions that go along with them.

I got this book as a birthday gift a few weeks ago, but I was so swamped by life, I didn’t get to read it right away. This morning, I picked it up and could not set it down. I devoured this novel. I felt emotions I haven’t felt in so long. Certain poems striked up memories I had long suppressed. Rupi Kaur did not just write a collection of poems, she created a masterpiece.
