What I’m Reading

Comments 2 Standard

I recently started reading Hunger by Roxane Gay. She’s been on my radar for a while and when I saw this on the Overdrive app, I decided it was about time that I started one of her books. I’ve been listening to the audiobook and this has really been something. It talks about some serious issues: rape, self/body image and obesity. It’s a short book but I think it’s going to take me a little longer to finish than I was expecting as a result of the sensitive topics.

  1. I loved this one. Bad Feminist is amazing as well.
I recently read Not That Bad: Dispatches from Rape Culture and highly recommend it. She didn’t write it all; just the intro and she was the editor, but it’s very good. A difficult read, but important.

    • I’ve heard great things about the two. I saw Not That Bad in someone’s TBR and immediately added it to mine. I feel like these books are so important, especially at this time and I have so much respect for Roxane Gay in the fact that she’s speaking about something so personal. It’s definitely much harder to read but worth it in the end
