My goals this year were pretty simple, I had two for blogging and two for reading. It was a good year, until Fall semester started. That’s when things got super stressful.
But enough excuses, let’s see how I did.
Reading Goals:
Read 25 Books – 10 being physical copies
I was trying to add more physical books this year because I felt like I was relying on audiobooks too much. I’ve now realized that I shouldn’t knock down audiobooks because reading is still reading. Audiobooks and e-books are just as valid as physical books.
That being said, I read 26 full novels. 20 of these books were physical and that’s dope considering how difficult it is for me to focus at times.
Read from more Latinx Authors
I wish I defined this goal better. In 2018, the only Latinx book I read was The Education of Margot Sanchez by Lilliam Rivera and this year I read both Elizabeth Acevedo’s books. So, two is more than one.
Blogging Goals:
Blog consistently – at least 2x a week
I was doing so well for this up until mid-October. Things started getting super hectic with my job and that was also midterm season. I just wish I hadn’t let that get to me so hard. I posted once in November, then fell off until the very end of December.
I’m hoping to be better with consistency this year, while not beating myself up for missing a couple weeks.
Start a Bookstagram and stay active
This also should have been more specific. I haven’t posted since October, but before that I was posting fairly consistently. I was even involved in a booktube group where we made sure to like and comment on each other’s posts. That started getting difficult as more people were added to the group, so I eventually left.
One of my issues with bookstagram has been growing my page without following a million and one others. I also use my brother’s camera to take the bookstagram pictures and I never uploaded a bunch of those pictures to my laptop. So, I don’t know if this is something I’ll continue into the new year yet.
I will be posting my goals for 2020 some time this week (hopefully tomorrow) so stayed tuned for that.

Thank you so much! It’s definitely not easy, hence the October to December slump, but I do love blogging 😀

You did so well for consistent posting last year, I hope I can be as consistent with mine this year – I’m aiming for 5 times a week which might be tough at first but hopefully I’ll get into a good habit. I can’t wait to hear what your goals are for 2020!

Thank you! I wish I hadn’t let that October slump get to me, but I will definitely push through this year 😀 Consistency is tough but so worth it!

I got in such a bad slump in September. I literally didn’t post for like 4 months. Just getting back into it and I love it, so mad that I stopped.
