Let’s Catch Up (#11)

Comments 8 Standard

Hey y’all! This week has been a super productive one for blogging. I had so much to say that I actually ended up posting something every day this week. It’s been quite a while since I did something like that. Oh, how I miss those days.

Life Update

This week has been a pretty chill one. I’ve watched some TV shows, read short stories for class, and honestly just sat around for most of the day. On Friday, I went to Lowe’s and bought some flowers. I’ve wanted flowers for a long time now and it was the perfect thing for getting me out of the house.

Blogging Life

As mentioned above, I’ve posted every day this week. It’s been nice getting back into the feel of blogging. I love writing and expressing myself. It’s been fun.

I’ve also been playing around with the banners and I think I’m starting to develop a more distinct style. Just know that next week’s banners are going to be real cute.

This week’s posts:

The Babysitters Club Netflix Adaptation ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

Last week I watched The Babysitter’s Club Netflix Adaptation and fell in love with the series all over again. I decided to write about just how much the books impacted me growing up and my overall thoughts on the series.

Books that shaped my childhood ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

Thinking about The Babysitter’s Club made me think about all the other wonderful books that shaped my childhood. It was nice to reminisce on it and really delve into what made me into who I am today.

WWW Wednesday ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

I’ve now gotten through all three books from last week and I’m so ready to start my next few reads. This week’s WWW Wednesday was fun to make but I probably won’t get into that next read until after The Reading Rush.

My Reading Rush 2020 ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

I’m joining The Reading Rushagain. I’ve been doing it since high school so why would I stop now?

We Were All Someone Else Yesterday by Omar Holmon ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

I finally posted my book review for We Were All Someone Else Yesterday by Omar Holmon. It’s been well over a month since I read it and I’m sure this is going to be a collection that I come back to over time.

Bored in the House Watchlist ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

It’s been so long since my last watchlist so I decided to update you on all the latest things I’ve been watching while I’m in the house bored.

Next week is The Reading Rush so I won’t have as much time to focus on blogging. I’m going to be using the week to catch up on reviews, most of which I finished yesterday. So far I have three scheduled for next week but I’ll probably work on more today, so be on the look out for those.

Booktubers to Check Out

I love Kevs. Our Twitter conversations keep me going.

I really like Femme and Frills channel. She seems really sweet.

Tahiry is so dang funny and she happens to be the fashion hottie of the Unfriendly Black Hotties.

Monte gets me laughing at every single video. His dry humor is A-1.

Blu is so funny and happens to be a huge Chloe x Halle fan. I love his energy.

Book Bloggers to Check Out

Kat @ Life and Other Disasters gives such great TV show and movie recommendations. If you’ve checked out any of my watchlists, then you’ve probably seen me mention her before.

Sabrina @ Notes From a Paper Plane Nomad posted her mid-year freakout tag a couple weeks ago and now I want to read Date Me, Bryson Tiller.

JJ @ Notes by J posted her favorite fictional friend groups and it’s such a wholesome post.

That’s all on my end.

How was your week?

Who are your favorite booktubers and bloggers?

Are you joining The Reading Rush?

  3. I’ll have to check out those booktubers! I’ve been trying to compile a list so I can start seeing a little more of BookTube. The Reading Rush sounds intense, but fun! I think I might like to try it this year! Also those flowers are lovely! I especially love the pink one. So vibrant and pretty haha. Great post! Happy reading 😊
