Let’s Catch Up (#21)

Comments 5 Standard

Hey y’all! So it turns out that I played myself last week by pretending I’d actually have time to blog hop. I had two essays due (and I have another due this coming Tuesday) so I really should’ve known better. That being said, I still think it’s about time we catch up. Come on now, grab a fall themed drink, cozy blanket, and sit down so we can catch up!

Life Update

Life has been stressful! Wait, scratch that. School has been stressful. I actually forgot I had two discussion board assignments due on Tuesday. I did them on Wednesday and, thankfully, my professor didn’t take any points off for them being late. I also completely forgot to do the assigned readings for one of my classes and I was just winging it the whole time during our Zoom meeting. I finished both the essays that were due this week and I’m planning to start the upcoming one tomorrow.

I started taking walks again with my grandma. We walk to the small park by her house a few times a week. The park had closed when things first started getting bad but it’s been open for a while now. It’s been really nice having a reason to leave the house and I love bonding with my grandma.

It started raining more halfway through the week which means Hurricane Season is starting to get serious again. They say October is gonna be a pretty full month for storms but I’ve lived in Florida forever so this isn’t anything new. My flowers have been blooming even more with all the rain.

Blogging Update

I’ve managed to post every day this week. Mainly short pieces and things that fall along my schedule so it wasn’t too hard to keep up with. One of the things I love about blogging is how it makes it feel so much easier to write. It’s nice just putting my thoughts out into the world and not stressing about every word.

Bookstagram has been fun, as usual. The Ungodly Hour Challenge I was hosting officially ended last night and I’ll be picking the winners today! It was so fun trying something new with these reels and I’ve met so many new people.

What Did I Miss?

Books of the Month ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

I bought so many books in September. This is just the list of books I bought for myself, I don’t even want to get into how much I actually spent.

Top 5 Tuesday ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

It was the last week of our alphabetical challenge and I feel pretty satisfied with my answers.

WWW Wednesday ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

How I manage to actually finish books each week is beyond me. I’m still trying to figure that out. Then again, I don’t really go anywhere…

The Loud House Winter Special Review Banner
Review of The Loud House Winter Special Comic collection

It was about time I started talking about The Loud House again. How could I resist this winter collection?

Jackpot by Nic Stone Book Review ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

I finally got around to posting my review of Jackpot. My preorder of Dear Justyce actually came in yesterday so I’ll be up to date on all Nic Stone’s YA novels soon enough.

September Wrap-Up ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

I decided to put out my September wrap-up yesterday, stock full of the wonderfully colorful StoryGraph charts.

Serotonin Boosting YouTube Videos

Today, I’ll be doing something slightly different. Instead of sharing booktubers, I’ll be shouting out some regular Youtubers that I absolutely love.

Kennie JD is such a queen. Her Bad Movies and a Beat series is so funny!

Anything Nathan Zed puts out is pure gold. This is just a fact.

If y’all haven’t seen EvelynFromtheInternets before then, um, what are you doing? She’s such a gem and she has the most relaxing voice.

Apparently Angie Thomas is a fan of the Cross family and that just further proves that I need to meet her in real life to talk because she’s such a dope person.

I get an instant serotonin boost whenever I see an Odd Man Out video in my subscription feed. Jubilee is a group of good humans making great content.

How was your week?

Are you a fan of outdoor walks?

Who are your favorite YouTubers?

Let me know in the comments below, let’s chat!

    • Thank you 🙂 My grandma and I usually walk in the mornings but evening walks sound super calming! I hope you take it up again 😀

    • Yeah, it can be overwhelming sometimes but I’m getting better at managing it. The walks have been really nice and a perfect stress reliever for both of us ☺️
