Two for Tuesday: April Flowers

Two for Tuesday is a weekly tag I host here on my blog. If you’re interested in joining, just let me know and I’ll add you to the list of participants. This week’s prompt is two books that have flowery language.

My first pick literally has a flower on the cover. You can’t get more flowery than that.

the sun and her flowers by Rupi Kaur

I got the sun and her flowers as a birthday gift a few years ago. I immediately devoured it. Poetry just has a way of connecting to my pain in ways I didn’t know possible. I haven’t gotten around to reading her first book, Milk and Honey. Hopefully, I’ll finally get to it this summer.

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

The Sun is Also a Star is a beautiful story. The language is very flowery at times, but completely understandable. It’s one of those books that has resonated with me ever since I finished it.

I’m surprised both of my picks for this month have sun in the title. But then again, you can’t have flowers with sunshine.

What are some of your favorite flowery books?

Two for Tuesday: April Fools

Two for Tuesday is a tag I started on my blog this year. If you’d like to participate and write up your own Two for Tuesday posts, make sure to comment below!

In honor of the notorious April Fool’s Day yesterday, this week’s prompt is about two funny books. And I mean laugh out loud, almost peed my pants, level of funny!

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

This book was absolutely hilarious. Despite everything that happened, Monty was still able to find humor in the situation. I listened to the audio book of The Gentleman’s Guide and I highly recommend it.

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian gave me all the feels, but the humor stuck out quite clearly. Junior’s take on what happened over the course of the year continued to show his resilience and his humor kept the story moving.

Have you read the books I mentioned?

What are some of your favorite funny books?

Two for Tuesday: Unsung Female Heroes

This week’s prompt is about the female heroes we don’t hear enough about. I’ll be honest, I almost forgot to post this. I was literally up at 12:18 typing this up. That’s just how much we need to bring up these unsung heroes.

It was difficult picking just two. Make sure to let me know some of your favorite unsung heroes in the comments.
